Yellow bedstraw bedstraw or real (Galium verum) is a perennial in the sterbladigenfamilie (Rubiaceae). The species is native to Eurasia. It is an upright or ground cover plant 15-100 cm tall and occurs in meadows, hedgerows, dunes, on roadsides, riverbanks and on dry sandy soils. Because the four ribs have rounded stems, they look like square. The plant is parasitized by lying mountain flax.
Yellow bedstraw is a medicinal herb, which is also used to color cheese.
The flower is golden yellow or lemon yellow and has a size of 2-4 mm. The corolla have a fine cutting point and converted one rolled edge. The bottom of the flower is hairy.
